First of all, pressure-sensitive tablets are for drawing. If you are just using this for handwriting recognition, you're wasting one of the most valuable features. I've been using tablets professionally for over a dozen years and have owned five Wacoms.I bought this one to bring on trips (may main one is an Intuous 6x8). It's an improvement over the Graphire 3 in that it has a handy scroll wheel (great for moving through Premiere movies or Flash timelines) and the cord unplugs, which may not seem like ahuge deal, but after years of attached cords, it's a blessing to have a standard USB mini-B jack on my portable tablet.

Action is excellent, the slightly textured surface is different but I might even say it's better. The control panel is standard Wacom, which means it's easy to use and has a lot of features for customizing how the tablet works.

I use this with Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Director, and Flash and it's great for all of them. I recommend the Bamboo for novices (it's cheap) and proslooking for a tablet they can pack in their laptop bag.

I've been researching tablets for the last few weeks and finally decided on this one. Wacom manufactures the best tablets out there, and the price was low enough that I wouldn't be out a whole lot of money if I wasn't satisfied.

I'm a Flash artists, andcan't stand using a mouse to draw freehand. That's why i thought a tablet would be a great choice.

It was super easy to install out of the package, which was really sleek by the way. Just install the included drivers, plug it in, and go. I read that ittakes quite a while to get used to, but I was addicted within the hour.

The only weird thing is moving your hand more than you normally would while drawing on paper. The tablet had a great 'paper' feel as if I was actually drawing on my desk. Definitelyworth the purchase.
