Found this to be an excellent purchase while at Circuitcity. It has everything you need with pre-installed software for ease of use.

Excellent choice, however it does take about 2 minutes for it to respond first time plugging it in.

Shopped for this product on line for my son who needed an external drive to help repair problems he was having with his laptop. This drive has plenty of room and at a great price plus no interest for 3 months. Extremely easy to use.

WD Imposing Unwanted Restrictions

I recently purchased this hard drive and have come across a few issues. Most of which were easily fixed. However the main issue that many people will have is that WD has major DRM locks and now also limits the file size, so that large files, say like aMovie Rip, or a Java *.jar file will not be held due to the size being too large. So if you need this drive to store anything over a gig or two as a single file, look elsewhere as this will not hold the file and simply tell you that the file is unmoveable due to its size, as if the hard drive was full. WD needs to not impose ridiculous piracy prevention upon their customers since many of us are not software pirates and do legitimate work with large files, especially in the tech, music and film industries. Bad job WD.

However the drive runs fast, installs nothing unless told to and is easily managed. Very well created, minus the restrictions. I will be keeping this drive, however I cannot use it to hold computer images, which is the main reason I hadbought this drive in the first place.
