Product failed in less than 1 year - don't buy it!

This product failed in 11 months, and Western Digital's customer service is terrible. It took 3 weeks for them to recognize within their system that my product was under warranty. I will never buy another WD product again.

I don't know about all these complaints. Most drives, these days, come with preloaded software. Just don't install it or get a Mac. I used this on my toshiba laptop running XP and it worked fine, I now use it on my new iMac and again, works without a hitch. I use it daily [almost] to transfer files from school to home [graphic design]. So far so good.

i bought this external hard drive not knowing that it came pre-loaded with a few google applications. somehow in checking 'agree' to the user terms, i loaded this 'junk' unknowingly. i've also been getting messages from mc afee saying that 'winfixer' isrunning. charge $30 less by taking these two programs off and i might buy it again, but as for now i am returning it
