I added this to my XM receiver after dealing with interference from the built in FM modulator. It cleaned the sound up considerably.

I used Sure Connect in my pickup truck, one of our three vehicles. Sound quality is very good, almost as good as the professional direct wiring that we got in our van, which is excellent. I used a cassette adaptor in my wife's car and sound was only fair. We replaced that radio with one that has an Aux input, and sound quality with that is excellent. No problem running a wire from the right fender (where radio antenna is located) to the unit which is on the dash.

Bought this online, and got one that was cut open and then taped back together, was really ticked but discovered it during the install and wanted to get the job done that day. As far as the wire durability concerns, there are no problems with wire durability, the guy that had problems likely just didn't know how to properly install this kind of equipment. This was very easy to install, although I'm a formerly an installer. This is a very nice system if you don't have an input on your stereo to do it the right way.
